Exciting news about Casall Ask!
We offer a massive congratulations to Rolf Goran Bengtsson and CASALL ASK (Sire of Capatino GNZ) for their magnificent performance at the World Equestrian Games, placing fourth. Casall Ask also placed fourth at the European Championship in 2013. See Casall Ask's full performance record here.
Capatino arrived at Redcliffs Equestrian in July 2013, bred by Goldengrove Stud. Capatino is 16.3hh and was foaled in 2009.
Sired by Casall Ask, an international jumping superstar, he provides the best Holstein bloodlines available.
His mother Countess a Nations Cup mare by Calato. Calato by Capitol is a renowned breeder of top broodmares and performance horses.

CARETINO (Sire of Sire)
What is astonishing about Caretino is his ability to throw such unbelievable movement and jumpability. He has approved sons,Cheenook, Carpaccio and Cockney all who are some of the best movers we have ever seen in the Dressage ring. Caretinos' daughter,Ballerina is a current international jumping sensation. Caretino won his 100 Day Test and moved on to win the German Championships in Mannheim under Bo Kristoffersen. Under Ludger Beerbaum he continued his outstanding career until retired to stud. His sire Caletto II was the most important son of Cor de la Bryere.

CALATO Z (Sire of Dam)
Together with Carthago Z, Cento and Cassini I we may call Calato Z one of the best sons of Capitol I. And from his dam’s side he has inherited excellent genes, with Landgraf I, Calypso I, Rigoletto and lineage 474a. Calato Z himself performed in the international showjumping sport under the Danish Jennifer Fogh Petersen and he was, amongst other achievements, winner of the Danish championships for Young Riders. But Calato’s offspring is even better. His son Cöster was the 2003 winner of the European title, ridden by Christian Ahlmann. In 2010 Christian Ahlmann won another prestigious title with a Calato son. This time it was the World Championship in the 6-yr-olds category with Charles. In addition, Calato is sire of the international Grand Prix jumpers Index (Hauke Luther), Corinessa (Hubert Bourdy) and Callistro (Janne-Fredrike Meyer). We can confidently call Calato not only a true progenitor but also a founder of maternal lineages.

PEDIGREELine 173 (VASE H)
The story took its course on March 27, 1968 when Rheder Thormählen brought his Ramzes AA daughter named  Vase to the Wilster stallion station where she was to be bred by Maximus, a son of the Thoroughbred sire Manometer xx. With success. Eleven months later a bay filly was born that they named Folia: there was nothing particular about her appearance but her hereditary powers brought a breath of fresh air to Holstein breeding.

Folia's granddam Rappel had already been a well-known character – simply because she would not stay on any pasture. With seemingly no effort, she could easily sail over fences and ditches. Her ability was nearly a disaster for her colt born in 1953 – poor little Romanus ended up in various ditches and was often only saved at the last minute. Later, Romanus became one of the best show jumpers of his day. Under Hans Günter Winkler, the gray gelding won bronze and silver at the European Championships in 1961 and 1962 and team silver in 1963 in Rome/ITA. Rheder Thormählen was offered a lot of money for Romanus's full sister, Vase, who he had also bred – but he always refused. One of the probably most significant mare lines in Holstein breeding was founded through Vase

Vase reached the ripe old age of 27 and gave birth to 14 foals. Everyone of them an absolute hit. Along with her licensed show jumper sons Grand Vikar, Maurus, Montreal and Robinson, an advanced (S) level show jumper named Lagrain, who competed for Italy, is especially worth mentioning.  Vase's last daughter named Vaseline, who was born when she was 25, won many Grand Prix and was a member of the successful Italian Nations Cup team in 1996 at the CHIO Aachen.
